Oxtail Soup Ala Chef

Our chef-style oxtail soup is one of the most popular dishes in Indonesian cuisine. Made from seasoned chunks of beef tail then steamed or fried and put into a slightly clear beef broth with potato slices, carrots, tomatoes, leeks, celery and a sprinkling of fried onions. Indonesian oxtail soup is seasoned with shallots, garlic and local spices, such as pepper, nutmeg and cloves. A relatively new variation is called "Sop Buntut Goreng" which is a seasoned fried oxtail served dry, while the broth is served in a separate bowl.
